The Philosophy of Adab in Seeking Knowledge: The Student's Ethical Covenant

At Ghaith Academy, our motto is 'Etiquette before Knowledge.' Amassing information without self-refinement may produce a 'knower,' but it does not produce a transformational scholar in society. Sharia knowledge is a light cast into the heart, and this light only settles in a pure, humble heart.

The Pillars of Knowledge's Blessing

  1. Sincerity (Ikhlas): Purifying the intention from the stains of reputation and status. Knowledge at Ghaith is an act of worship and a responsibility toward the Ummah.
  2. Academic Humility: Knowledge is an endless ocean; a student grows in humility as they grow in knowledge. Al-Shafi'i said: "Whenever time disciplines me, it shows me the deficiency of my intellect."
  3. Respect for the Carrier of Knowledge: The teacher is the bridge to knowledge; respecting them is part of respecting the subject matter. we raise our students on the 'Etiquette of the Companions with the Prophet ﷺ.'
"We learned etiquette for thirty years, and we learned knowledge for twenty years." — Ibn al-Mubarak.

Summary: Knowledge That Benefits

Beneficial knowledge is that which manifests in your tranquility, integrity, and excellence toward people. At Ghaith Academy, we don't just hand you a 'certificate'; we strive to hand you a 'key for change' within yourself and the world, armed with the noble Prophetic character.
